Based on the holiday of Halloween (or known as Samhain), the story of 31 is an anthology, a collection of short stories. Inspired by the work of Michael Dougherty, the film director and writer of Trick r' Treat, and the work of Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark by Alvin Schwartz and Stephen Gammell, all true masters of the horror genre, these Halloween stories are intertwined together. Each story leads up to the October 31st, the night of Halloween, each impacting on the next story and their characters in the supernatural world in a sequence. Both in word and image, these nights will be portrayed in horrifying detail that will delight many thrill-seekers of today.
As a child, I have had a love for reading and aspired to become a true story-teller in my own right. After years of writing, I have found the courage to seek out publication and achieve my life-long dream of becoming a full-fledged author, but this book is only the first step towards that journey. As this is my debut as an author, I would like to pay homage to my roots from the past, acknowledging present, and looking into the future. It is my hope that these stories will make a mark in the time-honored tradition of story-telling for generations as it did for me and my generation.
