Yazzy is interested in learning about culture and traveling around the world. In this second book, she and her best friend, Bouba, will listen to storytelling from the griot. The griot will share a story about the history of the land of Fouta Djallon. Yazzy will learn about the division of the provinces of Fouta Djallon, which will inspire her to think about her passion.

About The Author

Boubacar Cherif Balde is from Guinea Conakry in West Africa. She currently lives in Greenwood, Indiana. Balde graduated with an Associate Honors degree in Liberal Arts from Ivy Tech Community College. She is continuing her studies at Purdue University Main Campus where she is an honor student, with two majors in political science and law and society. Balde is passionate about being a country ambassador and helping to advocate for women and children.

Balde worked at Ivy Tech Community College at the office of the president as a Systems Administrative Office Intern. She is currently volunteering at the Immigration Welcome Center as a Natural Helper. Balde speaks Fulani, an African language; French; and English. Balde loves her culture. As a native Fulani, she wants to help educate the next generation.
