Soul River was born in Jamaica, specifically in the Clarendon Parish. Around the age of 9 years old, he moved to the United States of America. Up until this point, his world has only been seen through the Caribbean lens he is used to. Despite the difficulties he faced in integrating to the American way of life, he found a place where none of that matters, the world of writing. On the blank paper, there are infinite possibilities. The moment the pen touches it, all possibilities become finite. When he came to that realization, he wrote with no thought in mind. Perhaps it was a means to express himself or maybe it was something else.
