About The Book

For over 25 years, Preston Poskey has been writing. He draws on his life experience to write. These experiences include two divorces, surviving abuse and poverty, and learning to live with his heart on his sleeve despite what hardships life may present. He has been everything from a valet and a waiter to a factory worker. Up from Underneath is his first published work. However, he is already working on his next two anthologies. When he isn't busy writing, you can find him roaming around Houston, Texas with his fluffy and savage best friend Puchi. Both are generally of good spirits but may bite if provoked.

Preston Poskey has been actively writing for 25 plus years. Up from Underneath is his first published anthology. You may encounter rhyming works and more modern works here, but you will most definitely encounter a collection of diverse images and emotions that will wheel you through the all too human landscapes of love, loss, grief, hope, loneliness, and longing.

This collection is written with the idea that art and specifically poetry should be a gut punch that makes you see or feel the world in a new way - the idea that art does not conform to rules, but rather sets to establish itself in a freedom from rules.
