What is a monster to do when trapped in a body they cannot stand. Daxton has never been who others perceived them to be. Daxton has always known this and it will continue to grind away at them until there is nothing left. So they strike a deal with a mysterious and powerful entity. Daxton can finally have the body they always dreamed of. Have the life they could never have! What’s a few lives lost in exchange for all your dreams? What cost is worth everything you are? One thing is certain: Change is coming, and nothing will ever be the same for anyone in Daxton’s life.
As a latina, transfemme, nonbinary individual, I always told myself I am hideous on the inside and out. The way people treated me never helped. Everything about me from interests, behavior, to ways I couldn’t sync up with others disgusted me. Eventually however, after a long period of time, I began to see that while I was a terrible monster, this is who I wanted to be. I wanted to have fangs and claws and gnash at all the world threw at me. Horns and spines are an evolutionary development to deter predators. I wish I had those when I was younger too. However since the past cannot be changed, I decided to be who I am now. A monster who embraces what they are with reckless abandon. A monster is what you make it. You are what you make yourself. For me, that monster is a beautiful thing now.
