Welcome to Being a companion piece and the direct sequel of The Life We Lead. How we experience life is unique to all of us, but in that uniqueness, we are all distinctly intertwined. Though themes and stories of our lives interlock invariably, who we are and how we live, those stories are experiences entirely our own. Being will take you on a journey through what it means to be nostalgic, a poet, bold, in love, joyful, at peace, faithful, and hopeful. It will revisit favorites from The Life We Lead such as “Dove,” “Reminiscence,” and our friends from “I Knew Them Once,” but there will also be plenty of new perspectives. Once again Angel Anthony Cordero welcomes readers into his world where they are free to dream, imagine, and redefine what it means to be alive. He welcomes them to come along with him through these 50 works on the journey of a lifetime: the journey of Being.
Angel Anthony Cordero is the proud son of Gustavo Antonio Cordero and Maria Angeles Cordero and older brother to Aaron Frederick Cordero. He is the author of the 99 page poetic anthology The Life We Lead. He was born and raised in El Paso, Texas. When he is not writing he enjoys playing piano, singing, or playing a game of catch with his brother on the baseball diamond. The most important things in his life are his faith in God and the love he has for his family without which he would be unable to accomplish anything. His love for writing poetry stems from his overall love of reading. His favorite authors are H.G. Wells, Jules Verne, Edgar Allan Poe, Rick Riordan, and Miguel de Cervantes. His favorite book he has read to date is 20,000 Leagues Under The Sea. His favorite genre of literature alternates between Historical Fiction and Science Fiction.
