About The Book

The title “Waterfalls” comes from my love for waterfalls. “Waterfalls,” is a book of poems written based on my comparison to the beauty and different stages of waterfalls. I focused on the brighter side, the obstacle side, and the peaceful side of waterfalls. Each poem carries a message and holds their own reputation flowing rapidly like the water flowing down a waterfall, forming unique emotions. Just like the characteristics that I see in a waterfall, these poems are peaceful, calming and soothing. I compared my life to the water in a waterfall and I realized that I was not flowing. The water does not flow backwards in a waterfall and this made me realize that I had to stop going backwards if I wanted my life to flow. The steady sound of rushing water brings everything into perspective. Meditating to that sound, I find myself at peace and much happier.

About The Author

Billie Jean Mann was born and raised in Lyons, Georgia. She graduated with honors from Lyons Senior High School. She was a straight “A” student and graduated tied for second in her class. Billie has a daughter who inspires and motivates her to be a better person. Diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis, Billie finds her daughter to be a solid rock of support not only in her day-to-day living but also throughout her journey as an author. Billie loves to write and can express herself very easily on paper. Billie grew up in the countryside of town and it reminds her so much of herself, quiet and very reserved. For as long as she can remember, Billie has been writing poetry. She finds it very therapeutic for herself and others. Billie has a passion to reach out to people and does that through poetry. Her motto is “My Desire is to Inspire.”
