About The Book

Rodney a young penguin, shows feelings of loneliness, curiosity, determination and compassion. Rodney sets out to find himself a best friend with the advice of his mother. Rodney is in for a pleasant surprise!

About The Author

My name is Shelley and I was raised in a town in British Columbia, Canada. I’m a proud mother of two adult children. As they were growing up, we immensely enjoyed trips to the library and bedtime stories which were the highlight at the end of every day. As a parent I loved to find books that were fun as well as teaching some kind of lesson for children. As a child I suffered with social anxiety and it made school difficult. Writing about Rodney has made me tap into my past childhood, my emotions and the loneliness that came with anxiety. I know today children suffer silently with so much stress, loneliness, anxiety and many other unspoken issues. I would like to bring awareness to these as well as offer some humor and lessons of kindness and caring. Enjoy!
