About The Author

Esmeralda Andrade Fernández, born in the vibrant city of Barcelona (Spain), is a registered Midwife with a Bachelor of Science from Middlesex University, (London, UK). She has an extensive experience as a Breastfeeding Counsellor within her role and also through the community, as a breastfeeding support volunteer. Her own struggle as a new mother a decade ago, and a deep compassion and passion for empowering women and breastfeeding, drove her to pursue her career. Moreover, she has dedicated all her energy to help mothers achieve their breastfeeding goals. Throughout this journey, she had the privilege of working with clients from diverse backgrounds, gaining insight into the unique challenges faced by diverse communities. “The rich and the poor, could go through similar struggles when it came to establish breastfeeding”. As a midwife, breastfeeding counsellor, and an advocate for women, she strives to make breastfeeding education and resources more accessible and easy to all. She is excited to share not only her expertise, also her perspectives as a woman, mother, and midwife in this book. With the hope to inspire and support women on their breastfeeding journey everywhere. Esmeralda lives with her family, and weaves together her interests in motherhood and the arts.
